On Tuesday members welcomed Gordon Scott as judge for our Annual Projected Digital Image competitions. Gordon is a very experienced photographer and judge and member of Mid Calder camera Club. As expected he gave a very thorough critique on all sixty one images giving constructive advice where in his opinion some images could be improved.
First place in the colour section went to Will Peat with 'Zitting Cisticola' a lovely nature image of a beautiful little bird in it's natural environment.
The monochrome section was won by George Lightbody with 'Wood Warbler' again an image of a lovely little bird in it's habitat.
After assessing both images the judge decided the overall winner was Will's image.
Members Rosemary Leishman, Steve Gauld and Robert McFetridge (Sen) run as close seconds with 19 points on their entries. Well done to all who participated.
Next Tuesday is the deadline for entries to the Annual Print competitions. We can have a look at some of Tuesday's entries and see if anything can be learned from the judges critique. Your thoughts on subjects for next session would also be appreciated.
