On Tuesday we enjoyed an excellent presentation by member John Aldred.
The subject was Studio Lighting for Still Life subjects and John demonstrated many different lighting set ups using fixed LED lights and reflectors. While he used large soft boxes he also demonstrated the use of card and cloth materials to reflect and diffuse the direction and strength of the light. While some of the equipment used is expensive John also demonstrated the use of small LED units, small torches and described how daylight from a window is also excellent to achieve well exposed pictures.
This was a very interesting and informative guide to lighting a Still Life project and many thanks to John for sharing his expertise.
Next week we welcome Libby Smith who will judge the entries in the Annual Print competitions.
