On Tuesday members enjoyed an excellent presentation on 'Astra Photography' by club member Stephen Burman.
Stephen explained how he had been interested in astronomy since he had been a teenager however it was only in later years when time and affordability
allowed that he became very keen on photographing the skies and deep space. Displaying some of his equipment he described how this has evolved from
film cameras to digital cameras, smart phones, a digital telescope, automatic tracking and image processing software.
He went on to show the process of taking the images and surprised members with the length of time it took for the exposures, often a few hours making many individual
exposures then stacking these images in software, picking the best and blending the final image.
Stephen showed many of his images of the moon, star systems, planets and colourful nebula in deep space and had his audience spellbound.

Next week Cammy Scott will judge this years Annual Print Competition.
